Our heritage

For over 60 years, we have been working in Europe to help achieve Aramco's goals from all around the world.

From day one, our mission has been to add value to the Aramco business from locations across Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.

We began European operations in Rome in 1948, and for over 60 years, we have grown to encompass offices in Beirut, Cairo, London, Rome, Sydney, Seoul and Singapore. Since 2009, Aramco Europe's headquarters has been based in The Hague, the Netherlands.

Over that time, our services grew to include expert project management, in-depth technology discovery, advice and support, as well as finance, HR, legal, PR and communications.

Joint Ventures & Affiliates

We have several major affiliates around the world, two focusing on downstream in Asia and one that is a crude oil terminal and storage facility in the Netherlands.

Since the beginning of 2019, we are 100% shareholder of Arlanxeo, a former joint venture between Aramco and Lanxess, a Chemicals company, specialized in High Performance Elastomers and Tire & Specialty Rubbers.

We have shares in Team Terminal, together with partners BP and Esso and MOT (Maasvlakte Olie Terminal) with 5 other partners (BP, Esso, Total, Shell, Vopak).

In addition, a few Aramco investments fall under us, such as S-Oil, a petroleum refinery in South-Korea; in which we are the majority shareholder.

We also own 50% of two PrefChem joint ventures (for Refining and Petrochemicals) in Malaysia and finally, have a stake in Idemitsu Showa Shell.
