On 14th of October, Poland celebrates National Education Day, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the National Education Commission. This special day is an occasion to honour teachers, educators and pedagogues, whose invaluable contribution is particularly appreciated by Aramco Europe as they are the ones who inspire and motivate future innovators, leaders and discoverers to create groundbreaking projects and change the world.
As part of Aramco’s corporate social responsibility and its commitment to building a better future, the company is consistently involved in initiatives that promote the development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
Aramco Europe supports STEM education in Gdańsk
Since the beginning of its operations in the Polish market, Aramco has been involved in initiatives that inspire and educate young Poles. A particularly important place on the map of Poland is Gdańsk, where Aramco companies operate.
As a part of the second edition of the corporate citizenship program, Aramco Europe established a long-term partnership with the Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk (FarU), which brings together the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, and the Medical University of Gdańsk.
Aramco Europe's cooperation with FarU in Gdańsk includes the organisation of the ‘Energy of the Future’ student competitions, the Fahrenheit Science Picnic and a series of podcasts on energy. The initiatives are aimed at popularising science and encouraging participation in science and technology initiatives prepared for pupils and students at Gdańsk universities.
Long Live Science!
In the beginning of October representatives of Aramco Europe and Aramco Fuels Poland participated in the annual ceremonial parade “Long Live Science” organized by FarU which marked the inauguration of the 2024/2025 academic year. This event gathers students, lecturers, and representatives of state and local authorities, underlining the importance of cooperation between academic circles and local community across the whole Pomerania voivodship. As part of the tradition, the invited guests marched down the Royal Artery in Gdańsk in a ceremonial parade.
The parade was an opportunity for Aramco representatives to meet with local authorities and the rectors of local universities to discuss current cooperation and talk about educational initiatives that might be jointly implemented in the future.
